Chapter 3.0

Welcome back to another chapter of Random Branches! In the last chapter, the fall out from taking Darius down was dealt with, Obi Wan grew up to a YA, and Sinbad and Bailey passed away. And now on with the story.

Obi had been out working when Bailey had passed away. He got home to see his father crying in the family living area. “Dad, what’s wrong?” Obi asked, but he couldn’t help but notice the urn in the room.

Chapter 2.17

Welcome back to another chapter of Random Branches! In the last chapter, the Rands learned that Wolfgang’s family was put under the protection of the criminals in Storybrook County as a ploy to throw off Darius, they also learned that Sion had been trapped in Evansdale County after the reactor blew up. Also in the last chapter Obi began dating Mindy Foss and Mira Rand passed away of old age. And now, on with the story.

Sinbad visited Mira’s grave in the backyard daily. He couldn’t believe he got to live longer than Mira. Mira had been a good person in life. Sinbad had done horrible things in his past. Yet fate ended Mira’s life first. It wasn’t right.

He had still been in the process of coming to terms with the fact that his youngest child might very well be dead when Mira passed away. It had been a hard blow to Sinbad’s psyche. If he was honest with himself, he was depressed.

He had snapped at Revan’s right hand man Zachariah before hanging up on him after he had called the afternoon after Mira died wanting to discuss plans.

Chapter 2.16

Welcome back to another chapter of Random Branches! In the last chapter life began to move on after Atton and Bailey divorced. Liliana aged to young adult and moved out and Sinbad learned of the Alliance between the criminals and the cops in order to take down Darius. He also learned that in order to help the goal of taking down Darius that the Alliance is going to stage Wolfgang’s family getting kidnapped in order to fool Darius. And now on with the story.

Sinbad had called a meeting while Atton was at work.

“Shouldn’t we wait for Dad to be home?” Leia asked.

Chapter 2.15

Welcome back to another chapter of Random Branches! In the last chapter Bailey and Atton made their plans to divorce public. The kids took it hard. And now on with the story!

Sinbad was on the phone with a high up criminal from Storybrook County. Called herself Revan. They were discussing the alliance to take down Darius when he got an incoming call. “Sorry, Revan, I need to take this. It’s my son and we just had some family shattering news that I’m afraid just reached my college aged son and grandson, the plan sounds good. Talk to you next week,” Sinbad said before taking the other call, “Afternoon, son. I hope you’re doing well with your studies.”

“Are finals…” Sinbad started to continue the conversation when Sion interrupted. Sinbad listened to what Sion said and said, “Yea, it’s true. Atton and Bailey are getting divorced. We were going to wait until we heard you two were done with finals before telling you, but the best laid plans of mice and men.” He finished the conversation up with Sion and hung up the phone.

Chapter 2.14

Welcome back to another chapter of Random Branches! In the last chapter we found out that Bailey asked for a divorce from Atton and Mission overheard it. She ran off to her uncle’s where Carth comforted her until Atton realized she was missing. Atton then met his niece Terri when Carth volunteered to come over and bring her. And now on with the story.

Sinbad saw Bailey come out of the kitchen crying and rush off to the bedroom she shared with Atton. He wondered for a few seconds if Atton had done something to make her cry, but that wasn’t in Atton’s nature. And he didn’t hear the usual yelling that would be indicative of a fight. Realization soon hit Sinbad. Bailey must have asked for a divorce. He felt his anger rise but took a few deep breaths and forced himself to go into the kitchen.

He saw his son crying uncontrollably on the table and his anger intensified.

“I blew it, Dad,” Atton cried after looking up to hear who had come in.

Sinbad walked towards his son and pulled him close and just let Atton cry on his shoulder for a while.

Chapter 2.13

Welcome back to another chapter of Random Branches! In the last chapter Ian Destansi saved Bailey from being kidnapped by a spy of Darius’s. However, it only served to further divide Atton and Bailey.  Their fighting led Mission to go visit her uncle and confide in him. Sion and Canderous also told their family they were going to the University of Bridgeport and Sion gave Bailey an ultimatum considering Atton. And now on with the story.

It had been a couple of months since Sion and Canderous moved out to go to college. Mission missed her older brother and her alien uncle. Especially Sion. He had been like a male mother to her when her own mother couldn’t be bothered to be home or sober. Mission had taken to spending the weekends over at Uncle Carth’s to get away from the constant fighting.

Chapter 2.12

Welcome back to another chapter of Random Branches! In the last chapter, several members of the Rand family had a birthday. Bailey learned about Darius and what career Sinbad is in. This shook her trust in Atton hard and the two have been fighting for months over it. This has put a strain on the family as a whole and has pushed both to drinking. Atton being more responsible about his drinking. At the very end, Bailey was getting drunk with her new found friend Hugh and he had just asked her to stay for one more drink. And now on with the story.

Ian Destansi smiled. Luck was on his side tonight. He had located Darius’s spy in Moonlight Falls. He was at the bar talking with an older lady. Not quite elderly, but by the looks of her, she wasn’t too far from being elderly. After noting the conversation wasn’t related to Darius he didn’t focus in on every word said. But he did hear that she had a couple of birthdays to attend and couldn’t stay long.

He heard her phone go off and watched as she talked for maybe thirty seconds, sounding a little drunk but not wasted yet. She bid good evening to the spy but the spy convinced her to stay for one more drink.  Ian sighed. The girl was obviously his next meal target and he was trying to get her too drunk to remember her priorities. But it was the lady’s problem if she got that drunk.

Chapter 2.11

Welcome back to another chapter of Random Branches! In the last chapter Liliana learned more about her “Grandpa” than she cared to learn about and Sinbad and Wolfgang had a discussion about why they live in Moonlight Falls. Wolfgang has also decided what he’s going to do when he grows up. And now, on with the story.

The Rands soon got into a rhythm that made raising the twins and Obi easier. But with time came aging and soon Sinbad and Mira were old. And Obi was a kid. And Liliana had grown into a fine young teenager. And Sion was a young adult. And Bailey’s dog Mochi died of old age. Obi, like his Aunt Kreia seemed to crave perfection. Liliana became a bit of a daredevil, pushing boundaries of safety. Sion yearned for a family as good his father’s and his brother’s.
